## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AIRCRAFT DEPARTED BENNETT AIRPORT (NORTH CREEK, NY). PILOT WAS UNABLE TO FIND SARATOGA COUNTY TO REFUEL. SAW ALBANY AIRPORT AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 10 WITHOUT ESTABLISHING COMMUNICATIONS AND WITHOUT A TRANSPONDER AS REQUIRED FOR CLASS C AIRSPACE. PILOT WAS DISORIENTED DUE TO INSUFFICIENT PILOTAGE EXPERIENCE, AND CONCERN OVER FUEL REMAINING ON BOARD. AIRCRAFT WAS FOUND NOT TO HAVE PROPER REGISTRATION PAPERS OR CURRENT VFR CHARTS ON BOARD. PILOT WAS NOT AWARE OF PROCEDURES FOR CONTACTING FLIGHT SERVICE, AND EXHIBITED INADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF PILOTAGE NAVIGATION. ON LANDING ROLL, EXCESSIVE BRAKING CAUSED A PROPELLER STRIKE. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
