## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON OCTOBER 29, 1995 AT APPROXIMATELY 0900 HOURS, A PIPER PA28, N8339C, PILOTED BY MR. THOMAS C. DOUGHERTY, A STUDENT PILOT, EXPERIENCED SOME DIFFICULTIES WHILE ATTEMPTING A SOLO LANDING ON RUNWAY 01 AT THE FLYING W AIRPORT, LUMBERTON, NJ. FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON DURING THE LANDING ROLL-OUT, THE AIRCRAFT RAN OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS AND MUD. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND A FLIGHT PLAN HAD NOT BEEN FILED FOR THIS LOCAL FLIGHT. THE STUDENT PILOT, SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT INJURED AND THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE. THE STUDENT PILOT REPORTED THAT DURING THE LANDING ROLL, EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT HEADED FOR THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. HE BELIEVES THAT A CROSS-WIND MAY HAVE BEEN A FACTOR IN THIS INCIDENT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ INCIDENT CLOSED.
