## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: WHILE EN-ROUTE FROM LGA TO MIA, CREW OBSERVED AN EXCESSIVE RISE ON THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE THROUGH ALL PHASES OF FLIGHT, THE INDICATOR CONTINUED TO RISE INTO THE PRECAUTIONARY RANGE WITH A CORRESPONDENT DROP OF ONE (1) GALLON OF OIL QUANTITY. CREW SELECTED TO ACCOMPLISH PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUTDOWN. CREW REPORTED THAT AS THROTTLE FOR #3 ENGINE WAS RETARDED TO IDLE OIL TEMPERATURE EXCEEDED 160 DEGREES. CREW ELECTED TO DIVERT FLIGHT TO RALEIGH-DURHAM AIRPORT, FOR MAINTENANCE. AIRCRAFT LANDED AND TAXIED TO PARKING AT RDU WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED #3 ENGINE, ENGINE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT IN PROCESS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
