## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED FOR BASIC FUNCTIONS I.E. ENGINE ELECTRICAL, FUEL SUPPLY, OIL, AIR INTAKE AND SECURITY OF ENGINE COMPONENTS. FOUND ALL FUEL COMPONENTS AND SUPPLY LINES NORMAL EXCEPT FOR RIGHT WING FUEL SUPPLY LINE UNDER COCKPIT FLOOR. SUPPLY LINE WAS BROKEN ON IMPACT CAUSING A LEAKAGE OF APPROXIMATELY 2-3 GALLONS OF FUEL. BOTH FUEL GAUGES READ EMPTY AND THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF FUEL IN FLOOR SECTION OF CARBURETOR GASCILLATOR OR SUPPLY LINES - FUEL SELECTOR WAS FOUND SELECTED TO "BOTH". ENGINE WAS RUN THROUGH AND FOUND TO ROTATE FREELY. INVESTIGATION CONCLUDED THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF FUEL SUPPLY TO ENGINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC96LA038](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC96LA038), Nov 6, 1995: Cessna 177 (N29676), South Brunswick, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: loss of engine power for an undetermined reason.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
