## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE STUDENT, MR. CLAUD R. BURKHARDT WAS BEING GIVEN INSTRUCTION BY HIS INSTRUCTOR, KARLA HEIPLER. THEY RETURNED TO DVT AND DECIDED TO DO TOUCH & GO'S ON RWY 25R. THEY LANDED, RESET TRIM, MIXTURE AND DID CHECK AND THEN BURKHARDT ADVANCED POWER TO TAKE-OFF POWER. THE INSTRUCTOR THEN PULLED THE POWER TO IDLE AND INSTRUCTED BURKHARDT TO ABORT. THE AIRPLANE LEFT THE END OF THE RUNWAY (ABOUT 10 YARDS) AND STOPPED. THE TOWER ADVISED THEM TO TAXI BACK & THE PILOT BURKHARDT DID & STOPPED BECAUSE OF ROUGH TERRAIN. UPON INSPECTION THEY DISCOVERED A NICK IN THE PROP. PROPELLER WAS REPLACED AND ENGINE TORN DOWN AND INSPECTED. NO INTERNAL ENGINE PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. INCIDENT CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
