## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT REPORTED THAT ON APPROACH INTO NOME ALL 3 DOWN & LOCKED INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE VISIBLE. UPON TOUCHDOWN THE NOSEGEAR BEGAN TO COLLAPSE AND THE GEAR WARNING HORN CAME ON. DURING RECOVERY, THE DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE INDICATED THAT THE NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT LOCK IN THE EXTENDED POSITION. ON NOVEMBER 14, 1995, INSPECTORS KETYER TOOK PHOTOGRAPHS WHILE INSPECTOR WALSH VERIFIED NOSE GEAR ACTUATOR RIGGING AND WIRING CONFORMITY. THE NTSB WAS CONTACTED AND OPENED THE OCCURRENCE AS AN INCIDENT. THE NTSB INSTRUCTED THE OPERATOR TO SEND THE NOSE GEAR ACTUATOR IN FOR TEARDOWN AND ANALYSIS. INSPECTOR WALSH TOLD THE DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE TO NOTIFY FAIRBANKS FSDO AS TO THE TEARDOWN RESULTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
