## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE MODIFIED ENGINE IN THIS HOME BUILT AIRCRAFT AND ITS SYSTEMS WERE CHECKED AND NO DISCREPANCIES WERE FOUND EXCEPT ABOUT 1" OF WATER WAS FOUND IN THE FUEL GASCOLATOR. NO OTHER WATER WAS FOUND IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE ENGINE SURGED SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN LOST ENOUGH POWER THAT HE COULD NOT MAINTAIN ALTITUDE. HE SELECTED A PLOWED FARM FIELD AND LANDED. THE LEFT MAIN AND NOSE LANDING GEARS WERE BROKEN OFF. AND BOTH WING TIPS WERE DAMAGED. THERE WAS NO INJURIES NOR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
