## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AFTER LOSING ELECTRIC POWER DUE TO A FAULTY 5 AMP FIELD CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE ALTERNATOR, AIRCRAFT N8966P ATTEMPTED TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR FOR LANDING AT AVL. THE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND FULLY BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRIC POWER FAILURE. AN ATTEMPT TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR MANUALLY WAS FRUITLESS. THE TELESCOPIC TUBE LEVER ASSEMBLY WOULD NOT EXTEND PROPERLY. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITH LANDING GEAR EXTENDED, BUT NOT LOCKED. AIRCRAFT SUFFERED SHEET METAL DAMAGE TO BELLY AND PROPELLER BLADE DAMAGE, BUT NO STRUCTURE DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
