## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON NOVEMBER 29, 1995, AT APPROXIMATELY 1530 CST A CESSNA 177RG, N177JG, LANDED WITH THE LANDING GEARS IN THE UP POSITION AT THE MCKINNEY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (TKI), MCKINNEY, TX. THE PRIVATE PILOT WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LOWER COWLING AND PROPELLER. THE FLIGHT WAS BEING OPERATED BY THE OWNER AS A PERSONAL FLIGHT UNDER CFR PART 91 WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED IN GREENVILLE, TEXAS AT APPROXIMATELY 1511 CST. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND THERE WAS NO FLIGHT PLAN FILED. A SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT BY A QUALIFIED MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A MALFUNCTION OF THE GEAR HORN MICRO-SWITCH CAUSING IT TO FAIL TO SOUND WHEN DESIGNED TO. A MALFUNCTION OR DEFECT REPORT WILL BE FILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
