## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1995, AT APPROXIMATELY 1330 MST, A BEECH BE-58, N4203A, LOST POWER ON THE RIGHT ENGINE AFTER TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 34R AT ARAPAHO COUNTY AIRPORT, ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO. THE PILOT MADE A FORCED LANDING ON A PAVED ROAD APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE NORTHEAST OF THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT AND 5 PASSENGERS WERE UNHARMED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE CLIP SECURING THE MIXTURE CONTROL CABLE (P/N RA1039C) HAD FAILED. THIS ALLOWED THE MIXTURE OF THE RIGHT ENGINE TO VARY UNCONTROLLABLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE PROPELLER FAILED TO FEATHER WHEN NORMAL IN-FLIGHT SHUTDOWN PROCEDURES WERE FOLLOWED. BOTH OF THESE ISSUES REMAIN UNDER INVESTIGATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
