## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AFTER RECEIVING TAKEOFF CLEARANCE THE PILOT SAID HE SET THE POWER AT 2000 RPM. HE CHECKED THE ENGINE INSTRUMENTS WHICH HE SAID WERE INDICATING IN THEIR RESPECTIVE GREEN ARCS. HE SAID HE RELEASED THE BRAKES APPLYING FULL POWER. HE SAID THE TAKEOFF WAS NORMAL AND AT ABOUT 100 FEET HE MOVED THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE TO THE UP POSITION. THE LEFT ENGINE THEN ABRUPTLY LOST ALL POWER AND THE AIRPLANE YAWED AND ROLLED SMARTLY TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT SAID HE GOT THE AIRPLANE STRAIGHT AND LEVEL AND BEGAN HIS ENGINE FAILURE EMERGENCY PROCEDURE. HE SAID HE THEN REALIZED HE WAS NOW TOO LOW TO SAFELY CONTINUE AND REDUCED POWER TO LAND. HE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIMITED TO BELLY SKIN AND ANTENNA. INVESTIGATION DID NOT REVEAL THE CAUSE OF ENGINE FAILURE. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
