## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON DECEMBER 25, 1995, A BEECH 1900C, N39019, OPERATING AS CONTINENTAL EXPRESS, HAD THE ELEVATOR JAM DURING LANDING FLARE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PASSENGERS OR CREW AND NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED THAT THE ELEVATOR COUNTER WEIGHT COVER SCREW HAD BACKED OUT AND JAMMED ON THE STABILIZER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW96IA080](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW96IA080), Dec 25, 1995: Beech 1900C (N39019), Denver, CO, incident, no damage. Probable cause: failure by the outside contractor to perform adequate maintenance, and failure by the operator to perform an adequate inspection.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
