## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 26, 1995 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:52PM LOCAL TIME, PILOT, MR. MANUEL BRACETE, ATP CERTIFICATE NUMBER 1570409, WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A SHORT FIELD LANDING AT FERNANDO LUIS RIVAS DOMINICCI (SIG) AIRPORT ON RUNWAY 27, FLEW AIRCRAFT BEECHCRAFT MODEL BE-60 DUKE, REGISTRATION NUMBER N719MC TOO LOW ON FINAL LEG AND STRUCK SEVERAL CANVAS TOPS OF BOATS IN THE TOP TIER OF SHOOTERS RESTAURANT MARINA DRY-STACK. THE PILOT MANAGED TO MAKE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING AT THE AIRPORT. DAMAGES TO THE AIRCRAFT ARE CONSIDERED MINOR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE TWO PASSENGERS ON BOARD. PILOT CLAIMED THAT THE DECISION TO MAKE A SHORT FIELD LANDING WAS DUE TO A FLAP MOTOR MALFUNCTION AND FLAPS COULDN'T BE EXTENDED FAA IIC WAS UNABLE TO CERTIFY THIS CLAIM DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PILOT WAS UNAVAILABLE AFTER THE INCIDENT. THE MECHANIC FOR THIS AIRCRAFT MR. JOSE ORTIZ (WHICH WAS ONE OF THE PASSENGERS) INDICATED THAT THE FLAP MOTOR WAS REPAIRED THE NEXT DAY OF THE INCIDENT AND THAT HE FOUND MOISTURE ON SAME. THE MARINA DRY-STACK STRUCTURE IS APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET HIGH AND THE BOATS IN TOP OF THE STRUCTURE EXTEND APPROXIMATELY 8 FEET HIGH. THE DISTANCE OF THE DRY-STACK FRAME TO RUNWAY 27 THRESHOLD IS APPROXIMATELY ONE THOUSAND (1,000) FEET. IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE PILOT MR. MANUEL BRACETE MIS-JUDGED THE ADEQUATE HEIGHT ON HIS FLIGHT PATH ON FINAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 27. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
