ON LANDING, AIRCRAFT SLID OFF END OF RUNWAY. (-23) ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 4, 1996, AT APPROXIMATELY 1830 EST, A PIPER PA-31, N111UC, ON AN IFR CLEARANCE FROM ELYRIA, OHIO (1G1), CONDUCTED AN ILS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 36 AT INDIANAPOLIS-TERRY AIRPORT (I52), LOCATED IN ZIONSVILLE, IN. THE APPROACH TERMINATED IN A SUCCESSFUL LANDING ON THE FAR LEFT S IDE OF THE RUNWAY FROM WHENCE THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED ABOUT 500 FEET DOWN THE RUNWAY BEFORE THE LEFT LANDING GEAR IMPACTED 30" DEEP SNOWDRIFTS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS THEN ENTIRELY ENGULFED BY THE DEEP SNOW WHEN THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR FAILED. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY THE COLLAPSE OF THE LEFT LANDING GEAR INTO THE WHEEL WELL. WHEN THE RIGHT GEAR FAILED TO THE OUTBOARD, THE RIGHT WING WAS BENT, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FORWARD SPAR. THE PILOT, THE SOLE OCCUPANT, WAS NOT INJURED.
