## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JAN. 6, 1996, MR. JIM SPRINKLE WAS FATALLY WOUNDED WHEN HE WAS MAKING A PARACHUTE JUMP. WITNESSES STATED THAT MR. SPRINKLE WAS ATTEMPTING A HARD TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 300 FT. AGL. CAUSING HIS CHUTE TO STALL. AT APPROXIMATELY 150 FT. AGL, HE CUT FREE OF HIS MAIN PARACHUTE AND DEPLOYED HIS RESERVE. THE RESERVE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH ALTITUDE TO FULLY DEPLOY. MR. SPRINKLE HAD OVER 3000 JUMPS AND WAS A PARACHUTE INSTRUCTOR. THE PARACHUTE LOGS WERE PROPERLY DOCUMENTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
