## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AAI-TEST FORM INFORMATION RE: BERNARD J. KAMPENGA, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IGL1796002. 35. INSTRUCTOR ALLOWED STUDENT TO GET TOO FAR BEHIND THE AIRCRAFT FOR THE CONDITIONS AND THEN DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH RUNWAY LEFT ON THE SNOW TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT OUT OF THE DITCH. INSTRUCTOR WAS COUNSELED ON GO-AROUND PROCEDURES. 36. STUDENT PILOT WITH INSTRUCTOR ON BOARD LANDED AT DEMOTTE AIRPORT RUNWAY 36. WHILE BRAKING, AIRCRAFT WENT OFF CENTER LINE AND THEN WENT OFF RUNWAY INTO A DITCH, ENDING NOSE DOWN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND DAMAGE WAS MINOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
