## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: MR. ANDREW J. SPERLING REPORTED A HUGHES HELICOPTER FLYING 30 TO 40 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AT THE INTERSECTION OF DEL MAR HEIGHTS ROAD AND MANGO DRIVE ON JANUARY 17, 1996. THE SIDE NUMBER OF THE HELICOPTER WAS N58377. THIS HELICOPTER IS USED TO FLY POWERLINE PATROL FOR SAN DIEGO GAS AND ELECTRIC. MR. CLARK, THE PILOT REPORTS HIS RECORDS INDICATE HE WAS NOT FLYING THIS ROUTE ON JANUARY 17, 1996. THIS DOES NO INVOLVE A NMAC OR A PILOT DEVIATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
