## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT REPORTED THAT "LOW STRUT & TIRE FAILURE" DAMAGED THE "FRONT STRUT AND TIRE", RESULTING IN A BALLOON DURING THE LANDING ROUND OUT THAT TERMINATED IN A HARD LANDING, CAUSING "SOME PROP DAMAGE." ON SCENE INVESTIGATION REVEALED A SHATTERED NOSEWHEEL WITH ONLY THE INNERMOST HUB REMAINING, A DEFLATED TIRE, A BENT NOSEWHEEL STRUT ASSEMBLY, SOME MINOR BUCKLING OF THE LOWER PORTION OF THE FIREWALL, AND DAMAGED PROPELLER TIPS. SUCH DAMAGE IS CONSISTENT WITH A HARD NOSEWHEEL FIRST LANDING. UNABLE TO SEE HOW ANY ALLEGED PREEXISTING CONDITION COULD RESULT IN OR CONTRIBUTE TO SUCH DAMAGE. INVESTIGATION ALSO REVEALED THAT THE PILOT OPERATED THE AIRPLANE WITHOUT ITS AFM/POH AND WEIGHT AND BALANCE LIMITATIONS ON BOARD. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
