## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT STATES THAT THE PREFLIGHT WAS INTERRUPTED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BECAUSE HE LEFT THE AIRCRAFT. WHEN HE RETURNED HE DID NOT COMPLETE THE PREFLIGHT AND DID NOT VISUALLY CHECK THE FUEL QUANTITY. THE PILOT STATED THAT DURING CRUISE FLIGHT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN UNEVENLY, INDICATING FUEL STARVATION. HE DECIDED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO FUEL EXHAUSTION. AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS PERFORMED ON A LEVEE WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR PROPERTY. THE PILOT STATES THAT HE INTENDS TO ENROLL IN A RETRAINING COURSE TO RAISE HIS LEVEL OF SAFETY STANDARDS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
