## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON FEBRUARY 21, 1996, CESSNA 150L N11384 DEPARTED PALM BEACH COUNTY AIRPARK, (LNA), AT APPROX. 2:15 P.M. EST ON A LOCAL FLIGHT WITH 2 PERSONS ON BOARD. AFTER 2 HOURS OF FLIGHT, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER, AND THE PIC EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON A SECTION OF BEACH IN DELRAY, FLORIDA. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED, NOR WERE ANY INJURIES REPORTED BY THE OCCUPANTS. ON FEBRUARY 22, 1996, INSPECTORS FROM THE FORT LAUDERDALE FSDO INITIATED AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS INCIDENT. AN INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT DISCLOSED A DISLODGED AND CLOGGED INDUCTION FILTER, WORN THROTTLE VALVE SHAFT, AND A LOOSE FUEL PRIMER LINE. IN ADDITION, THE PRIMER LINE WAS MANUFACTURED FROM ALUMINUM ALLOY IN PLACE OF STAINLESS STEEL AS SPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. AVAILABLE RECORDS DID NOT DISCLOSE WHEN THIS LINE WAS INSTALLED. BY REPLACEMENT OF THE PRIMER LINE, INDUCTION AIR FILTER, AND CARBURETOR, THE ENGINE WAS OPERATIONALLY CHECKED AND OPERATED SATISFACTORILY. AIRCRAFT WAS APPROVED FOR RETURN TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
