## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW96LA135](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW96LA135), Feb 27, 1996: Rockwell S-2R (N431BL), Winchester, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: Failure of the engine master rod. A factor relating to the accident was: the lack of suitable terrain for a forced landing, due to the proximity of a power line and trees.

## Other reports on N431BL (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19900515025059I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900515025059I), May 15, 1990: Ayres S2RR3SRESTD (N431BL), Wilden, PA, Minor damage. Engine malfunction at the end of a spray run. Forced landing in a field.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
