## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(.4)THE PILOT INDICATED THAT HE ACCOMPLISHED A NORMAL LANDING, AND THE AIRPLANE WAS ROLLING OUT ON THE RUNWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 40 TO 45 MILES PER HOUR. HE SAID THE AIRPLANE ENCOUNTERED A CROSSWIND FROM THE LEFT, THE LEFT WING LIFTED, AND THE AIRPLANE TURNED RIGHT. THE AIRPLANE THEN ROLLED OFF THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE RUNWAY, STRUCK SOME BUSHES, AND NOSE OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX96LA128](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX96LA128), Mar 8, 1996: Maule M-6-235 (N5652C), Bishop, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: failure of the pilot to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll, which resulted in an inadvertent ground swerve. The unfavorable wind condition was a related factor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
