## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: BOONEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RECEIVED A CALL OF AN EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER'S SIGNAL WHICH WAS REPORTED AS POSSIBLE AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT ON MARCH 7, 1996, AT APPROXIMATELY 1:30 A.M. CST. A SUBSEQUENT SEARCH BY POLICE OFFICERS FOUND THAT A CESSNA, CE-172, N7366F, REGISTERED TO MR. VAN L. KIRKPATRICK, BOONEVILLE, AR HAD COLLIDED WITH SMALL TREES, AND A FENCE LOCATED AT THE END OF A PRIVATE AIRSTRIP DURING TAKEOFF. THIS PRIVATE AIRSTRIP WAS OWNED BY MR. VAN KIRKPATRICK. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REPORTED STOLEN BY THE OWNER. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME, AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE STOLEN AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE AND NO EVIDENCE WAS FOUND THAT THE CREW AND/OR PASSENGER(S) WERE INJURED. THE BOONEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT IS INVESTIGATING THE THEFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
