## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI96LA110](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI96LA110), Mar 16, 1996: Yakovlev YAK C-11 (N9YK), North Vernon, IN, substantial damage. Probable cause: Failure of the pilot to maintain adequate airspeed during an aborted landing, which resulted in an inadvertent stall.

## Other reports on N9YK (1)

- [Incident 19900520035289I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900520035289I), May 20, 1990: Amtr YAKC11 (N9YK), Longview, TX, Minor damage. Canopy departed aircraft inflight. Landed safely. Canopy emergency release had malfunctioned.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
