## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MARCH 24, 1996, AT APPROXIMATELY 1730 EST, A BEECH H35, N110DA, REGISTERED TO CHARLES JOHNSON, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED AT THE ROCKY MOUNT AIRPORT (RWI). UPON LANDING, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. MR. JOHNSON, THE PILOT AND ONLY PERSON ON BOARD, STATED THAT THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. MR. DARRYL SHEARER, CHIEF INSPECTOR AT AIR CARE, INC., AT RWI, STATED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO HAND CRANK THE GEAR MOST OF THE WAY DOWN BUT WAS UNABLE TO LOCK BECAUSE OF DAMAGE TO THE GEAR SYSTEM. AN INVESTIGATION OF THE AIRCRAFT'S LANDING GEAR INBOARD MAIN DOORS AND MAIN TIRES OUTBOARD SIDEWALL REVEALED THAT THE GEAR WAS NOT FULLY EXTENDED ON LANDING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
