## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: DURING THE TOUCHDOWN FOR LANDING, THE PILOT NOTICED A SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE NOSE GEAR. WHEN THE PILOT RAISED THE NOSE GEAR OFF THE RUNWAY IN AN ATTEMPT TO TOUCHDOWN AT A SLOWER SPEED, THE NOSE GEAR STRUT ASSEMBLY FELL OUT OF THE NOSE GEAR HOUSING. THE DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO THE NOSE GEAR AND PROPELLERS. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT TWO ATTACHMENT BOLTS WERE BROKEN AT THE UPPER STRUT HOUSING. MALFUNCTION OR DEFECT REPORT WAS SUBMITTED ON 4-8-96.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
