## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 4/13/96 UALA FLT 153 LOST #3 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO DTW WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE FOUND #1 STABILIZER PRIMARY TRIM CONTROL VALVE WITH A CRACKED HOUSING. THIS COMPONENT FAILURE RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF #3 HYD SYSTEM FLUID. WITH 2 HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS REMAINING AND OPERABLE THIS WAS NOT NTSB REPORTABLE PER NTSB 830.5(7)(II). NO HISTORY ON THIS SYSTEM. MAINTENANCE REPLACED VALVE, BOTH #3 ENG HYDRAULIC PUMPS & FILTERS AND SERVICED PER MM 29-11-01.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
