## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON THE RETURN FLIGHT TO SPENCER FIELD (PRIVATE) FROM CUYLER FIELD (PRIVATE), PILOT ELECTED TO DESCEND FROM 2500 FEET MSL, BECAUSE OF MILITARY JET TRAFFIC AT THAT ALTITUDE. PILOT REDUCED POWER TO LOW CRUISE (2150 RPM). DURING THE DESCENT TO 1500 FEET MSL, A SEABREEZE FRONT WAS ENCOUNTERED WITH STRONG ESE WINDS, MODERATE TURBULENCE AND A SUDDEN DROP IN TEMPERATURE OF APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 15 DEGREES F. A SHORT TIME LATER THE RPM WAS NOTED DROPPING, APPLICATION OF FULL THROTTLE AND CARBURETOR HEAT HAD NO EFFECT. WILKINSON ROAD WAS THE ONLY SUITABLE LANDING SITE WITHIN NORMAL GLIDE RANGE BUT BECAUSE OF THE STRONG HEAD WIND AND A SLIGHT DEVIATION IN HEADING TO AVOID DWELLINGS AT THE WEST END OF THE ROAD, IT BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE. PILOT LANDED APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET SHORT OF THE ROAD IN A VERY ROUGH FIELD (CLEAR CUT). THE AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR AND NOSE COWLINGS WERE DAMAGED. PILOT RECEIVED NO INJURIES AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY ON THE GROUND. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
