## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: DURING APPROACH TO MDW, CHICAGO EXPRESS (CX7A) FLIGHT 109 NOTED THAT UPON SELECTION OF GEAR DOWN BOTH MAINS INDICATED "IN TRANSIT" AND HYDRAULIC PRESSURE INDICATED ZERO. THE APPROACH WAS ABORTED AND LANDING GEAR CYCLED, RESULTING IN ALL GEARS SHOWING DOWN IN THE GREEN. AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED IN ALL GEARS SHOWING DOWN IN THE GREEN. AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. NOSE GEAR STEERING WAS ACTING SLUGGISH AND BRAKES WERE NORMAL. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED A CRACKED HYDRAULIC LINE CAUSING LEAKAGE OF FLUID. HYDRAULIC LINE FOUND CRACKED IN RIGHT HAND WHEEL WELL. MECHANICS HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO SPECIFICALLY INSPECT THESE AREAS DURING SERVICE CHECKS AND THE INSPECTION WORK CARDS WILL BE REVISED TO INCLUDING WORDING TO BRING ATTENTION TO THIS AREA. PILOTS WERE COUNSELED ON PROPER EMERGENCY PROCEDURES AND EVALUATION RIDES CONDUCTED BY CHECK AIRMEN. OUTCOME WAS SATISFACTORY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
