## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON APRIL 28, 1996, PIPER PA-31-T2, N774KV, WENT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 30 AND STRUCK A RUNWAY LIGHT DURING LANDING ROLL AT MILLARD AIRPORT, OMAHA, NE. THE PILOT STATED LIGHT RAIN WAS OCCURRING AND THERE WAS A GUSTY CROSSWIND FROM THE RIGHT. HE SAID AFTER TOUCHDOWN, BRAKING ACTION WAS POOR. HE ALSO TRIED REVERSE THRUST, BUT HE SAID THE AIRPLANE WANTED TO MOVE TO THE LEFT. HE SAID HE THEN TRIED A COMBINATION OF BRAKES AND REVERSE THRUST. AT ONE POINT HE CONSIDERED A BALKED LANDING, BUT DECIDED AGAINST IT BECAUSE HE FELT THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT RUNWAY REMAINING. HE CONTINUED TRYING TO STOP AND APPROACHING THE END OF THE LANDING SURFACE, HE APPLIED FULL REVERSE THRUST. THE AIRPLANE WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY ABOUT 100 FEET FROM THE END. THE PILOT ESTIMATED HIS SPEED GOING OFF ABOUT 20 MPH. DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE INCLUDED THE RIGHT PROPELLER BLADES AND MINOR SKIN DAMAGE ON THE RIGHT SIDE. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE LEFT MAIN TIRE WAS LIGHTLY SCUFFED AND THE RIGHT MAIN TIRE SHOWED SIGNS OF HYDROPLANING. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
