## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N289VV, A CESSNA 320E, DEPARTED HERMISTON, OR VFR LOCAL FLIGHT, AND WAS UNABLE TO FULLY LOWER THE NOSE GEAR WHEN IT APPEARED TO BE HANGING BACK. THE PILOT ADVISED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE GEAR. HE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THE NOSE GEAR TO LOCK IN PLACE. THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 25 AFTER SEVERAL LOW PASSES DOWN THE RUNWAY WERE ATTEMPTED TO PULL IT INTO THE LOCKED POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AND THE NOSE WHEEL COLLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET AFTER TOUCHDOWN. THERE WERE TWO PEOPLE ON BOARD; NO INJURIES, AND ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND IS PRESENTLY IN THE OWNER'S HANGAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
