## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) PILOT DID A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING TO ADD FUEL, ON LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER. THE PILOT MOVED THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE I COULD LOOK AT IT. THE PILOT DID NOT TALK TO ME, HE ASKED HIS LAWYER TO CALL ME. I CALLED CINCINNATI FSDO TO LOOK AT THE AIRCRAFT SINCE IT WAS MOVED TO THIS LOCATION. AT THIS POINT, IT WAS DETERMINED AN ACCIDENT HAD OCCURED. THE PILOT WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT AND THE AIRCRAFT OWNER. NO REGULATIONS VIOLATED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ .

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC96LA108](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC96LA108), May 10, 1996: Piper J3C-65 (N22946), Kittanning, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's inadequate inflight planning/decision and improper fuel management, which resulted in a precautionary landing on unsuitable terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
