NARRATIVE: THE PILOT STATED THAT AT THE FIRST POWER REDUCTION, AFTER READING 1,000' ABOVE GROUND LEVEL TO 25" MANIFOLD PRESSURE AND 2500 ROUNDS PER MINUTE, HE NOTICED OIL PRESSURE FLUCTUATION ON THE LEFT ENGINE. THE ROUNDS PER MINUTE ON THE LEFT ENGINE BEGAN DROPPING AND THERE WAS A SMALL VIBRATION ON THE LEFT ENGINE. THE PILOT FEATHERED THE LEFT ENGINE, CALLED "MAYDAY", AND MADE A NORMAL LANDING WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. AN ACTIVE RUNWAY WAS CLEARED AND THE PILOT REQUESTED THE AIRCRAFT BE TOWED TO A HANGAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
