## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON LANDING, ARICRAFT BOUNCED AND CAME DOWN ON LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT STARTED TO GO TO THE LEFT INTO THE GRASS. FULL RUDDER WOULD NOT BRING AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE RIGHT. POWER WAS APPLIED AND AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO THE LEFT. LEFT LIFT STRUT AND LEFT FLAP HIT FENCE POST AND LEFT STABLIZER HIT ANOTHER FENCE POST. THE AIRCRAFT STARTED BACK TO THE RIGHT. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR STRUCK A DITCH AND DAMAGED THE GEAR. ENGINE POWER REMOVED AND PILOT TAXIED BACK ONTO RUNWAY AND CONTINUED TO HANGAR. CROSSWING WAS FROM THE LEFT 12 TO 15 KNOTS, 85 DEGREES F.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW96LA213](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW96LA213), May 14, 1996: Luscombe 11A (N1690B), Calhan, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing. A factor was a gusting cross-wind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
