## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ACCORDING TO A STATEMENT GIVEN BY THE PILOT, HE TALKED TO THE PILOT WHO FLEW THE AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO HIS FLIGHT, WHO STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOPPED OFF THEN FLOWN FOR 1.5 HOURS. MR. RYAN THEN VISUALLY CHECKED FUEL LEVELS, THEN TOOK OFF FOR A FLIGHT THAT LASTED 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTES. APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES NORTH OF HIS DESTINATION, THE ENGINE QUIT. MR. RYAN THEN LANDED SAFELY ON A DIRT ROAD. NO DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT OR PROPERTY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
