## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MAY 22, 1996, AT APPROXIMATELY 1745 EDT, PILOT IN COMMAND SHAWN M. MCGEHEE AND ONE OTHER OCCUPANT DEPARTED NAS JACKSONVILLE AIRPORT IN MOONEY N9KS AND FLEW TO ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA (SGJ). UPON ARRIVAL AT THE ST. AUGUSTINE AIRPORT, MR. MCGEHEE ENTERED THE TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR RUNWAY 13 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS. MR. MCGEHEE STATED THAT DURING ONE OF THE TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS, HE INADVERTENTLY RAISED THE LANDING GEAR SWITCH RATHER THAN THE FLAP SWITCH WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS STILL ON THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED ON TO THE RUNWAY AND SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER, WING FLAPS AND BELLY SKIN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
