## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT STATES THAT HE DEPARTED EUREKA AROUND 1500 PM LOCAL TIME. THE FLIGHT WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL THE ENGINE STARTED TO "LOSE POWER." THIS TOOK THE FORM OF THE ENGINE RPM DECREASING TO 1500 RPM. HE APPLIED CARB. HEAT WHICH DID NOT HELP. HE THEN LOCATED A PLACE TO LAND. THE LANDING AREA WAS A PAVED ROAD IN A DESERTED DEVELOPMENT. THE MECHANIC WHO RECOVERED THE AIRCRAFT SAID THAT #3 PISTON SHOWED DAMAGE CONSISTENT WITH A BROKEN VALVE. AT THIS TIME NO WORK HAS BEEN DONE DUE TO AN INSURANCE PROBLEM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
