## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NEAR ASHEVILLE THE WEATHER STARTED TO SOCK IN. PILOT DECIDED TO CIRCLE AND WAIT TO SEE IF WEATHER WOULD CLEAR. AT APPROXIMATELY 1010 LOCAL TIME, PILOT NOTICED A CLEAR AREA AND DECIDED TO LAND. WHEN AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN, LEFT GEAR HIT GROUND FIRST. THE LEFT GEAR BROKE OFF THE AIRPLANE. PILOT CONTINUED LANDING ROLL OUT. PILOT SHUT OFF ENGINE AFTER COMING TO A STOP. THE PILOT AND PASSENGERS WERE NOT INJURED AND DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT WAS IN THE LEFT LANDING GEAR AREA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
