## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT WAS LANDING ON A VERY SHORT, DIRT MOUNTAIN STRIP. ENCOUNTERED A STRONG DOWN DRAFT ON LANDING. APPLIED POWER, HOWEVER, THE TAIL WHEEL CAUGHT THE EDGE OF A DROP-OFF. WHEN THE MAIN GEAR TOUCHED DOWN, THE PROP STRUCK THE GROUND RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE. THE DAMAGE WAS SO MINOR THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS GIVEN A FERRY PERMIT TO FLY OUT OF THE STRIP TO WHERE REPAIRS COULD BE MADE. PILOT WAS COUNSELED. CASE CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
