## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JUNE 8, 1996, N35EK, BEECHCRAFT V35B, WAS RETURNING TO MILLARD AIRPORT, OMAHA, NE AFTER A LOCAL FLIGHT WHEN THE PILOT DID NOT GET A LEFT GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION. THE PILOT STATED HE COULD TELL THE GEAR WAS DOWN BECAUSE OF MIRRORS MOUNTED ON THE TIP TANKS. THE PILOT DIVERTED TO EPPLEY AIRFIELD, OMAHA, NE WHERE HE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE FOUND THE LEFT GEAR LOCKED BUT TENSION WAS LOW AND THERE WAS NO GREEN LIGHT. FURTHER INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR ROD ASSEMBLY BRAZE END WAS BENT AND HAD A SLIGHT TWIST. MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE ROD ASSEMBLY, GEAR MOTOR AND OVERHAULED THE GEAR BOX. IT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED HOW THE ROD ASSEMBLY WAS BENT. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
