## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON APPROACH TO FNT LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED IN PREPARATION FOR LANDING. DURING EXTENSION A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD FOLLOWED BY NO GREEN LIGHT FOR THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE GEARS WERE CYCLED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO HELP, ALSO 3 FLY-BYS OF THE TOWER REPORTED THE GEAR APPEARED TO BE EXTENDED. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE "LANDING WITH A DEFECTIVE MAIN GEAR" CHECKLIST WAS PERFORMED. UPON TOUCHDOWN THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED, THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING TIP, RIGHT FLAP AND RIGHT ELEVATOR. NO INJURIES NOTED. EXAMINATION OF THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR REVEALED A BROKEN FORK BOLT. THIS BOLT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN CRACKED FOR SOME TIME, BUT DUE TO ITS LOCATION IN THE AFT PUSH-PULL ROD ASSEMBLY THIS CONDITION COULD NOT BE DETECTED DURING A ROUTINE INSPECTION. COMPLETING AN M OR D IS PLANNED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
