## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AIRCRAFT N9659X ON TAKEOFF FROM LYH ATTEMPTED TO RETRACT GEAR WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO EXTEND THE GEAR NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT ONLY THE NOSE GEAR CYCLED. AFTER 21/2 HOURS OF FLIGHT IN THE LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA AREA THE PILOT OPTED FOR GEAR-UP LANDING AT LYH. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, AND THE AIRCRAFT HAD MINOR DAMAGE. THE PROP WAS DAMAGED, AND ENGINE HAD SUDDEN STOPPAGE. THERE WERE NO APPARENT FAR VIOLATIONS. THE LANDING GEAR MALFUNCTION WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY HYDRAULIC POWER PACK INTERNAL PROBLEM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
