## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 27, 1996, AT 1800 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME, A CESSNA, MODEL 152, AIRCRAFT, N93526, REGISTERED TO AND OPERATED BY DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY, WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGE WHILE LANDING AT LAKE PROVIDENCE, LOUISIANA. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED FOR THE SOLO CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT AND A VISUAL FLIGHT RULES FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM CLEVELAND, MISSISSIPPI, APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE DID NOT FLAIR THE AIRCRAFT SOON ENOUGH. THE NOSE WHEEL STRUCK THE GROUND VERY HARD, DAMAGING THE NOSE WHEEL, ENGINE MOUNT, AND FIRE WALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW96LA277](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW96LA277), Jun 27, 1996: Cessna 152 (N93526), Lake Providence, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's improper flare and improper recovery from a bounced landing, which resulted in an inadvertent porpoise motion of the airplane and subsequent damage.
