## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JULY 6, 1996, AT 1100 HOURS, A NAVION B, REGISTRATION NUMBER N5269K, REGISTERED TO TRUMAN L. ATKINSON, MADE A GEAR-UP LANDING AT SCHUYLKILL COUNTY AIRPORT (ZER), POTTSVILLE, PA, WHILE ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE, AND THE CERTIFICATED PRIVATE PILOT AND A PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT SCHUYLKILL COUNTY AIRPORT AT 1000 HOURS. AFTER A ONE HOUR PLEASURE FLIGHT, THE PILOT RETURNED TO SCHUYLKILL COUNTY AIRPORT (ZER). ON HIS FINAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 29, A WITNESS NOTICED THAT THE NAVION HAD ITS LANDING GEAR UP. A WARNING WAS TRANSMITTED ON UNICOM, BUT NOT RECEIVED. THE AIRCRAFT THEN LANDED ON RUNWAY 29 WITH ITS LANDING GEAR UP. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATING NORMALLY, AND THAT THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT WAS HIS OWN BAD JUDGMENT. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE PILOT DID NOT HAVE A CURRENT MEDICAL CERTIFICATE, OR A CURRENT FLIGHT REVIEW. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THIS CASE IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
