## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 7-12-96 AT 2:38 P.M., ROBERT BROUILLETTE TOOK OFF FROM LAKE HOOD STRIP ON A TEST FLIGHT IN A C.A.P. DHC-2 BEAVER. AT OR ABOUT 200 A.G.L. THE PILOT REPORTED TO THE LAKE HOOD TOWER SMOKE ENTERING THE COCKPIT AND REQUESTED CLEARANCE TO RETURN. PILOT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE PLANE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY TOWED TO C.A.P. HANGER AND FOUND TO HAVE AN ALTERNATOR GROUND WIRE BURNED. C.A.P. MECHANIC PERSONNEL REPLACED THE WIRE AND AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND OVER VOLTAGE RELAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
