## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: 13 JULY 96 TERRENCE BRENNAN WAS RETURNING TO HIS HOME AIRPORT AT INDEPENDENCE, OREGON (7S5) AFTER ATTENDING AN AIRSHOW AT ARLINGTON, WASHINGTON (AWO). MR. BRENNAN STATED THAT HIS APPROACH TO THE INDEPENDENCE AIRPORT WAS NORMAL AND HE THOUGHT THAT HE HAD EXTENDED THE LANDING GEAR ON THE DOWNWIND AS WAS HIS NORMAL PROCEDURE. HE DID NOT REALIZE THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG UNTIL HE FLARED AND WAS TOO CLOSE TO THE RUNWAY AND THE FLAPS STARTED TO SCRAPE THE ASPHALT. MR. BRENNAN, ALSO STATED THAT HE DID NOT HEAR THE LANDING GEAR WARNING HORN WHILE IN THE AIR. BUT AFTER THE AIRCRAFT HAD STOPPED AND HE WAS EXITING HE HEARD THE WARNING HORN OPERATING NORMALLY. HE STATED THAT IT WAS HIS OPINION THAT THE ACTIVE NOISE ATTENUATING HEADSET HE WAS WEARING HAD PREVENTED HIM FROM HEARING THE WARNING HORN.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
