## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JULY 16, 1996, AT ABOUT 1205 ADT A WHEEL EQUIPPED CESSNA 140, N89923 REGISTERED TO JOANN M. LIVERMONT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND PILOTED BY ARTHUR E. LIVERMONT WAS INVOLVED IN A LANDING INCIDENT ON A BEACH NEAR CAPE CONSTANTINE . ACCORDING TO THE PILOT HE MADE A TOUCH AND GO TO "FEEL" THE FIRMNESS OF THE BEACH. HE THEN MADE A LANDING. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT BOGGED DOWN, HE GAVE IT POWER AND IT CONTINUED TO "BOG" DOWN. THEN HE "CHOPPED" THE POWER AND DUG IN THE TAIL WHEEL AND STOPPED THE PROP VERTICALLY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN SLOWLY NOSED OVER IN THE SOFT SAND. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT, THE SOLE OCCUPANT. HOWEVER, ONE PROP BLADE WAS BENT, A SKYLIGHT WAS BROKEN AND THE DOOR HINGE WAS BROKEN. MR. LIVERMONT TOLD ME, HE WENT OUT TO CHECK THE AIRPLANE THE FOLLOWING DAY AND NOTICED THAT THE TIDE LINES WAS NEAR HIS AIRCRAFT SO HE DECIDED TO FLY IT OUT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITT^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
