## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING DUE TO AN UNSAFE NLG INDICATION - NLG STUCK IN THE UP POSITION, WOULD NOT EXTEND - RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE NOSE RADOME AND NLG DOORS ONLY. INSPECTION OF THE NLG SYSTEM REVEALED A SHEARED NLG CHANNEL BOLT (AN4-7A) POSSIBLY CAUSED BY A DEFORMED CHANNEL (P/N 95394-00). THE DEFECTIVE CHANNEL MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FORWARD BOLT TO SHEAR, TURNING THE CHANNEL, THEN PREVENTING THE NLG ACTUATOR (CHANNEL) BALL FROM FULL TRAVEL BY JAMMING AGAINST THE SIDE OF THE CHANNEL - PREVENTING NORMAL - NLG EXTENSION. INCIDENT CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
