## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT STATED: THE APPROACH WAS NORMAL AND THE FLARE TO A THREE POINT LANDING WAS O.K. THE TOUCHDOWN WAS LIGHT AND WHEN THE STICK WAS PULLED BACK, THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO VEER TO THE LEFT, RIGHT RUDDER APPLICATION HAD NO EFFECT, AND THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED TOWARD THE VASI. THE LEFT HAND WING STRUT AND WHEEL SKIRT STRUCK THE VASI AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP. INSPECTORS STATEMENT: STATIC CHECK OF THE RUDDER AND ELEVATOR FOR TRAVEL AND FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT WAS O.K. THE PILOT ADMITTED TO THIS INSPECTOR THAT HE WAS A LITTLE "RUSTY" ON HIS LANDING PROCEDURES. A COPY OF THIS REPORT WAS FURNISHED TO THE SJC FSDO OPERATIONS UNIT. NO PILOT DEVIATION AND NO 8010-11 GENERATED. THIS TERMINATES THE INVESTIGATION AND THIS REPORT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
