## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

- [NTSB IAD96LA124](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/IAD96LA124), Aug 4, 1996: Cessna 150 (N61049), Waverly, OH, destroyed. Probable cause: the pilot's inadvertent VFR flight into instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) with subsequent loss of visual contact and collision with the ground. Darkness and fog were related factors.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
